Waldorf Hotel - LondonAldwich
Re-design, restoration and contemporary refurbishment, for Waldorf Hotel, now part of Hilton. Following much work with English Heritage, testing the make-up of the original 1910 design, the new design is sympathetic. Heavily listed and untouched spaces like Palm Court originally copied for the Titanic have been restored in their original materials and to English Heritage's strict requirements. Where no original decoration could be found, these spaces are modernised with rich bold materials using large blocks of colour. Floating ceilings, fabric and backlit glass walls give colour and drama to entrance hall, reception and intermediate spaces.
